Todd Systems has been manufacturing transformers for industrial environments and the military for over 40 years. All Todd Systems transformers are designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. All Todd Systems transformers are precision wound and insulated with the latest hi-tech, insulating materials. The core laminations are of high grade annealed silicon steel, designed to keep heating to a minimum. All transformers are impregnated with a modified polyester heat cured varnish, which seals the transformer, thus protecting the electrical windings from moisture and contamination.
If you need to power a 220-240 volt foreign appliance in the United States or Canada, you need a step up transformer. Step up transformers take the 120 volt electricity supplied by North American wall outlets, and convert the voltage up to 220-240 volts for use by the foreign appliance. These transformers perform that conversion, allowing you to power your foreign 220-240 volt appliance from a 120 volt North American wall outlet.
This transformer supports up to 250 watts, so be sure that your appliance's wattage does not require more than 250 watts. This transformer is equipped with a North American NEMA 6-15 receptacle, and some models offer the option of a European CEE 7/4 (German Style) Schuko receptacle.
In either case, if the appliance's plug doesn't match the receptacle on the transformer (for example, your appliance's cord has a British plug) simply attach one of our EA Series plug adapters to the transformer's receptacle. The adapter will accept just about any plug type used worldwide (with the exception of South African SABS1661 plugs.)
For the base model's NEMA 6-15 receptacle, you'd want our item #EA18.
For the European CEE 7/7 Schuko receptacle option, you'd want our item #EA9.
PLEASE NOTE: All Todd Systems products are "custom built" in that, while base models are stocked in large quantities, configuration options (such as power cord length/type, etc.) are installed on a per-order basis to suit the particular configuration desired. This is usually accomplished quickly, with the product shipping within 24 hours, but that varies from day to day based on volume. Therefore, we ask that you ALWAYS allow for at least 2 or 3 days lead time to ship.
