Transformers - 220V to 110V

The voltage supplied by local electrical outlets varies throughout the world, and, in some cases, within the same country. Most appliances are made to operate on a single voltage. When using electrical appliances designed for a specific voltage, it is often necessary to adjust the local voltage to the voltage for which the equipment was designed. This is done with a transformer. These transformers are designed to change 220-240 volt electricity at the outlet to 110-120 volts at the appliance. This allows North American appliances to be operated in countries where the local voltage is 220-240 volts.
